Prince Harry Shares Heartfelt Message Amid Royal Christmas Snub: ‘It’s OK to Feel Sad’

Prince Harry delivered an emotional message after reportedly not being invited by King Charles to join the royal family for Christmas at Sandringham.

The Duke of Sussex, who has not celebrated Christmas with his family in the U.K. since 2020, appeared to reflect on feelings of sadness and isolation while offering comfort to others during a special virtual event.

Harry joined bereaved military children for a festive party hosted by the charity Scotty’s Little Soldiers, wearing a Santa hat and participating in a heartfelt Q&A session. During the event, he shared a supportive message for those experiencing mixed emotions during the holidays.

“It’s OK to feel however you feel at Christmas,” Harry said. “Some people will be celebrating and happy, other people feel reflective, some people will be sad, and maybe you’ll experience every single one of these emotions—and that’s absolutely fine.”

He added words of encouragement for the children and families. “Remember, you’ve got each other, you’ve got Scotty’s, and you’ve got the people that love you.”

The touching message came amid reports that King Charles did not extend an invitation for Harry and Meghan Markle to join the royal family’s traditional Christmas celebrations at Sandringham this year.

According to Sky News, there had been speculation that Harry might be invited to reunite with his family for the festive season. However, the publication cited a source who claimed no such invitation was extended.

Harry, along with Meghan and their two children, Archie and Lilibet, has spent Christmas in the United States since stepping down as senior working royal in 2020. The couple’s decision to relocate to California and their subsequent public revelations about royal life have reportedly strained their relationship with the rest of the family.

The virtual event with Scotty’s Little Soldiers, a charity close to Harry’s heart, highlighted his ongoing commitment to supporting military families, particularly those coping with loss. His comforting words resonated with many, as he emphasized the importance of community and emotional support during a season that can feel bittersweet.

While Harry continues to forge his own path away from the royal fold, his message serves as a poignant reminder of the complex emotions the holidays can bring—and the strength found in connection with loved ones.
