Police Release CCTV Images After Man Exposed Himself to Woman

Police have issued CCTV images of a man they want to speak to after a woman was subjected to an indecent incident in Bolton town centre.

The incident occurred on Market Street at approximately 6:30 pm on October 5, when a man approached the woman and exposed himself. Detectives from Greater Manchester Police (GMP) are now investigating and believe the man in the images may hold crucial information.

In a statement issued today (December 9), a GMP spokesperson said: “We are appealing for information following a report from a victim that she was walking on Market Street in Bolton when she was approached by an unknown man who exposed himself”, reported by the Manchester Evening News.

The spokesperson added: “We have released an image of a man we would wish to speak to in connection with the incident as it’s believed he may have information that could assist with enquiries.”

The CCTV images were made public to help identify the man and move the investigation forward. Officers are urging anyone who recognizes the man or has any details about the incident to contact the police as soon as possible.

This appeal comes as part of GMP’s ongoing efforts to ensure public safety and address incidents of indecent exposure, which can have lasting psychological impacts on victims.

Members of the public with any information are encouraged to reach out to Greater Manchester Police directly or anonymously via Crimestoppers.

The investigation remains active as officers continue gathering evidence and seeking leads to identify and locate the man in question. Police hope the release of the CCTV images will prompt witnesses or those with information to come forward and assist their enquiries.

If you recognize the man or were in the Market Street area of Bolton on the evening of October 5, you can contact GMP by calling 101, quoting the date and location of the incident. Alternatively, anonymous tips can be shared through Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.

The police continue to urge vigilance and encourage anyone experiencing or witnessing similar incidents to report them immediately.
