ITV Faces Harassment Controversy as Gino D’Acampo is Accused of Inappropriate Behavior

ITV is at the center of a harassment controversy following accusations against celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo, reported by the Sun. The 48-year-old Italian TV personality has been accused of inappropriate behavior towards a woman over a five-year period, with the unnamed woman filing a formal complaint with ITV bosses just last week.

The woman, who worked alongside D’Acampo from 2006 to 2011, reportedly decided to come forward after the recent wave of allegations against BBC’s MasterChef presenter Gregg Wallace. This new complaint has emerged amidst growing concerns over D’Acampo’s behavior, with some reports suggesting that ITV has been quietly distancing itself from the chef.

D’Acampo has allegedly been sidelined from the popular show Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip after refusing to sign a morality contract clause. Furthermore, ITV executives have enrolled him in a language and behavioral course, reportedly due to concerns over his conduct.

A source close to the woman who filed the complaint revealed, “She worked [with Gino] for five years. She has come forward after being spurred on by the Gregg Wallace scandal and the comment he made about his accusers being middle-class women of a certain age.” This suggests that the recent media attention surrounding other high-profile figures may have played a role in her decision to speak out.

ITV has responded to the allegations with a statement that acknowledges the seriousness of the issue, though they have refrained from commenting on specific details. “We can’t really comment on anything specific as we have a duty of care to any complainant that comes forward,” ITV said.

The Mirror has reached out to D’Acampo’s representatives for comment, but as of now, there has been no official response from the chef. The situation continues to develop, as ITV grapples with these accusations and faces scrutiny over its handling of workplace conduct claims.
