Janelle Brown Embraces New Ventures Amid Family Tensions on ‘Sister Wives’

‘Sister Wives’ star Janelle Brown has consistently been candid about her family struggles and the ongoing drama with her former spiritual husband, Kody Brown. Married in the 1990s and sharing six children, Janelle’s relationship with Kody gradually soured as she recognized growing toxicity within their union. Eventually, she chose to end their spiritual marriage, seeking a happier, more independent life.

Recently, Janelle took to Instagram to share a humorous yet telling message about her family dynamics. She posted a photo of a tea towel reading, “Family Drama: The gift that keeps on giving,” which she’d picked up at a holiday show in Greenville. This lighthearted jab comes amidst escalating tensions between her, Kody, and the other wives over the Coyote Pass property in Arizona. Since leaving the marriage, Janelle has focused on her health, business ventures, and building her own identity, but the dispute over Coyote Pass continues to stir up unresolved issues with Kody.

In the latest Sister Wives episode aired on November 10, Janelle and Meri discuss Kody’s reluctance to settle the property’s debts. During their conversation, Meri raised a potential solution, saying, “I mean, I would assume that if you, me, Robyn, and Kody all came together and put money in, we could pay it off, don’t you think?” Janelle responded, “Yeah, but Kody keeps telling me he doesn’t have money.” She added, “Well, there was always money… if we prioritized it,” subtly hinting at her doubts over Kody’s financial transparency. Janelle has previously considered “lawyering up” to protect her and Meri’s stake in the property, which she describes as “basically the only asset we would be taking from the marriage”, according to PEOPLE.

Beyond family challenges, Janelle is embracing a new chapter focused on growth and personal interests. The U.S. Sun previously confirmed that  In September, she announced a new venture with her daughter, Maddie, as they embarked on creating their own family farm, Taeda Farms, in North Carolina. The two filed for a business license in March 2024, and in April, they purchased 156.4 acres of land for $289,000. Janelle’s love for gardening and sustainable living made the launch of Taeda Farms a meaningful next step, and fans were thrilled by this new direction in her life.

As Sister Wives continues to explore the ongoing family conflicts and Janelle’s journey, her commitment to finding happiness, independence, and stability shines through. With her farm venture underway and the Coyote Pass issue still unfolding, Janelle remains steadfast in her pursuit of a healthier, more empowered life outside the Brown family’s complex dynamic.
