Prince William Returns to Royal Duties After Kate’s Recovery: ‘A Great Morning in Cornwall’

Prince William has fully resumed his royal duties after his wife, Kate Middleton, completed her chemotherapy treatment in September. The Prince of Wales made a visit to Duchy College Stoke Climsland in Callington, Cornwall, England, marking his continued focus on supporting rural communities and young people.

William, who became the Duke of Cornwall when his father, King Charles, ascended the throne in 2022, now oversees the Duchy of Cornwall estate, valued at over $1 billion. His visit to Duchy College was part of his commitment to learning more about the opportunities available to young people in rural areas, particularly in agriculture, told PEOPLE.

Kensington Palace shared a new video from the visit, accompanied by a statement from Prince William. In the statement, he praised the work being done at the college: “The @DuchyCollege does a brilliant job providing opportunities for young people in rural areas to help foster a successful career. A great morning in Cornwall spent chatting about the future of farming, getting hands on with CSI-focused course tasks, and meeting students across campus.”

The Prince’s visit allowed him to see firsthand how the college is preparing the next generation for careers in farming and other rural industries. He participated in discussions about the future of agriculture and even engaged in some CSI-focused course activities alongside students. His hands-on approach demonstrated his commitment to the causes he supports.

The Duchy of Cornwall, a 700-year-old estate, was established to provide income for the heir to the British throne. Today, it spans 130,000 acres across 23 counties in England and Wales, including farmland, property, and commercial businesses. Since inheriting the estate, Prince William has taken an active role in managing its vast holdings and using the resources to support meaningful causes.

A royal source previously mentioned that following Queen Elizabeth’s passing, William is committed to making the most of his role as Duke of Cornwall. His dedication is evident in projects like his Homewards campaign, which aims to tackle homelessness. Notably, some of the Duchy of Cornwall’s land has been dedicated to building homes for those in need through this initiative.

William’s return to royal duties, highlighted by this visit to Duchy College, reaffirms his commitment to both rural development and humanitarian efforts as he continues to embrace his responsibilities as the future King.
