Wynne Evans ‘Can’t Wait’ to Return to Dance Floor After Surviving Fourth Week of Strictly Come Dancing

Opera singer and radio presenter Wynne Evans has expressed his excitement to return to the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom after making it through the fourth week of the competition. Evans’ continued participation comes after some controversy during the October 12 show when he was spotted placing his hand on his dance partner Katya Jones’ stomach.

Despite the incident, Evans received praise for his performance, which was set to ABBA music and impressed the judges. Sharing a photo of himself and Katya from their performance, Evans took to social media to thank his supporters. “Diolch and thank you to everyone for your support this week. It’s not every day you get to dance to ABBA in the @bbcstrictly ballroom. We can’t wait to get back out there again!” he wrote.

Following his post, the 52-year-old was flooded with messages of support from his fans. One follower commented, “Best of luck with training for next week!” while another enthusiastically added, “Winner right there.” His growing fan base has high hopes for his future in the competition, with many asking, “Do you think he’ll win?”

In response to the so-called “hand incident,” Katya Jones addressed the situation on social media earlier in the week, making it clear that it was all in good fun. In a post on Instagram, Katya stated, “I need to make something crystal clear. The hand incident that happened on Saturday night was a very silly inside joke between Wynne and I. So even the idea that it made me feel uncomfortable or offended in any way is complete nonsense. It’s actually absurd.”

The pair had also shared a video after the Saturday night show, further dispelling any misconceptions about the moment. Katya’s explanation was met with relief from fans, putting to rest any concerns over the incident.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Wynne opened up about the rapport he shares with Katya, saying, “She’s almost 20 years younger than me, and she seems 20 years wiser than I am. We talk a lot about what’s going on in life and what’s going on in the world.”

Reflecting on his experience in the competition, Wynne added, “I’ve learned that I can only focus on myself. I can’t control everything around me… I can only control what I’m doing and how I’m performing, and that’s all I can really focus on.”

As the competition heats up, Wynne Evans remains focused on improving and giving his best performances in the weeks to come.
