Josie Gibson’s Hilarious Struggle with Her Son’s “Embarrassing” New Habit

This Morning star Josie Gibson has revealed that her five-year-old son, Reggie, has developed a new and “embarrassing” habit that leaves her feeling mortified in public. The 39-year-old TV personality has found herself at the mercy of her cheeky son’s antics, which have certainly been effective in getting him what he wants.

During a candid chat on the Mums Without Make-up podcast with Anoushka Williams, Josie shared that while Reggie doesn’t fully grasp what she does for a living, he is aware of her fame and uses it to his advantage. “Because he’s only five, he doesn’t really get it, I don’t think,” Josie explained.

“But what he’s started doing, which is a little bit embarrassing, is when we’re out somewhere, he’ll go, ‘Mummy, can I play on your phone?’ And I go, ‘No, you’re not allowed to play on my phone,’ and then he goes, ‘I’m going to tell everybody you’re in here,’ and he’ll stand up on the chair and go, ‘My mummy is Josie Gibson!'”

To avoid further embarrassment, Josie often finds herself giving in to his demands. She admitted, “I wanna die inside and I go bright red and [go], ‘Here, have the phone.’”

Josie frequently shares glimpses of her life with Reggie, whom she co-parents with her ex-partner Terry, through her Instagram. Reggie’s infectious spirit was also showcased during a recent episode of This Morning, where he joined his mum for a segment. Together, they bravely tackled a 410-foot waterslide in Devon and had a blast.

Reggie also made a brief appearance on ITV when Josie participated in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! last year. Before her three-week separation from him, Josie took steps to prepare him for their time apart. She told Bristol Live “I’ve done him a lot of videos before I left and also I’ve explained everything that I possibly can to him ever since I signed up.”

Each morning, Reggie would ask, “Mummy, are we going to Australia now?” and Josie would respond, “Not yet, Reg.” She continued, “So none of it has come as a shock to him, he’s got his head around it.”

Following her exit from the jungle, Josie had an emotional reunion with Reggie, who was looked after by a friend during her time in the camp. The heartwarming moment highlighted the strong bond between the mother and son, despite the temporary separation.
