“She is Recovering Well, Thank You” Princess Anne Battles Memory Loss Following Concussion

Princess Anne, the sister of King Charles III, is currently grappling with memory loss after an accident at her Gatcombe Park estate resulted in a concussion, according to a royal insider speaking to ET. The incident, which occurred last Sunday, has left the Princess unable to recall the details of the event.

The 73-year-old royal was subsequently hospitalized for observation and is reportedly on the path to a full recovery. A statement from Buckingham Palace on Monday clarified her condition, highlighting the care and concern surrounding her health. “Her Royal Highness remains in Southmead Hospital, Bristol, as a precautionary measure for observation and is expected to make a full and swift recovery. The King has been kept closely informed and joins the whole Royal Family in sending his fondest love and well-wishes to The Princess for a speedy recovery,” the statement detailed.

Further reports suggest that horses were in the vicinity when the mishap occurred, pointing to a possible cause of the injuries consistent with an impact from a horse’s leg or hoof. Anne’s husband, Sir Tim Laurence, updated the public about her health status during a hospital visit, conveying their gratitude for the overwhelming support. “She is recovering well, thank you,” Tim shared with a well-wisher. “We are both profoundly grateful to the medical team and hospital support staff for their expert care—and to the emergency services who were all so wonderful at the scene. We are both deeply touched by all the kind messages we have received from so many people near and far. It means a great deal.”

The accident has necessitated the postponement of Princess Anne’s immediate royal duties, including an upcoming trip to Canada. Just last week, she was seen participating in royal engagements, notably at the Royal Ascot and the 2024 Trooping the Colour ceremony on June 15. During this event, she appeared alongside King Charles and other prominent members of the royal family, such as Kate Middleton, who recently returned to public life following her own health challenges.

As Princess Anne continues her recovery, the royal family and her supporters around the world remain hopeful for her swift return to health and her official duties.
