Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Are Confused Amid the King’s Olive Branch, Says Royal Expert

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, known formally as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, may encounter difficulties should King Charles decide to extend a peace offering to them. Recent speculation suggests that the couple is likely to be invited to Balmoral, a gesture that represents an attempt to mend familial tensions.

This move, while ostensibly a conciliatory one, could have complex repercussions for their professional endeavors and public image. The couple, who have been living in the United States after stepping down from their senior royal roles, have carved out new career paths that include multi-million-dollar deals with entities such as Netflix and Spotify, alongside their non-profit organization, Archewell.

Their efforts to establish a new life away from the direct influence of the British monarchy have been marked by a desire to control their public narrative and engage with global issues on their own terms, told The Mirror.

Royal expert Tom Quinn notes: “They are obsessed with their public image and will be aware that it will look really good if they swallow their pride and come back to the UK.” “But Meghan still wants that apology from William and King Charles and Kate so it’s going to be difficult for her to swallow her pride, but on the other hand, she won’t want to appear to be holding a grudge because that will lead to criticism and she really hates criticism.

On the other hand, she knows she always has the children’s needs to fall back on when she makes her apologies and says she can’t come to Balmoral,” he added. Quinn then explained: “According to people I’ve spoken to at Kensington Palace King Charles has hinted to Harry and Meghan that they should come to Balmoral in the summer to see if something can be done about the ongoing feud in the family.

“Charles knows that Harry and Meghan are much more likely to respond positively to an invitation after the shock of Harry‘s father’s cancer diagnosis and Kate’s cancer diagnosis. It’s one of those situations where good might just come out of bad,” concluded Quinn.

However, accepting an invitation to Balmoral could signal a readiness to reconcile, or at least to engage more directly with the Royal Family. This has potential implications for their brand, which is largely built on their independence from the traditional Royal framework. The couple’s brand and marketability may face challenges as they navigate the delicate balance between their independence and their royal connections.

Moreover, the invitation itself and the public response to it could further complicate their relationship with the media. Since their departure from royal duties, Harry and Meghan have had a contentious relationship with the British press, often citing invasive coverage and a lack of respect for their privacy as major reasons for their decision to relocate. Re-engaging with the Royal Family could reignite media scrutiny, not only in the United Kingdom but globally, affecting their ability to manage their public image.

The implications of their potential visit to Balmoral extend beyond personal and media concerns. It also holds significance for the broader dynamics of the Royal Family. King Charles’s decision to invite Harry and Meghan could be seen as an attempt to foster unity and stabilize the public perception of the monarchy during his reign. This comes at a time when the monarchy faces scrutiny about its relevance and its future.
